What's A Blog?: An online journal, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions.
Benefit: Helps your site in the search engines, as you have the ability to have continuous updated information for the search engines to index.
Downside: Requires REGULAR updates.
Our Experience: Small business owners do not generally benefit from this type of application, as they don't have the time to spend regularly updating their site in this format. The recommended maintenance is daily! When the blog is not kept current, it dates the website, regardless of what other updates may be being made, as it relates to the internet guest.
Search Engine Optimization
This is the key to it all .. search engine optimization! It's not a magic wand that we wave, but here at Strait Web Solutions our designers have a history of great placement on the search engines. Your site will be optimized to work with the three main Search Engines (Google, Yahoo! & MSN's Bing). We know the rules that are in effect, and we pay attention to the changes that each of these search engines implement in terms of optimization. You won't ever hear us promise you "front page placement" because promising search engine placement, without benefit of pay per click, is not possible.
We don't practice black hat search engine optimization (such as link farms and keyword stuffing that degrade both the relevance of search results and the user-experience of search engines.) Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques in order to remove them from their lists.
What we will tell you is that many of the sites our designers have developed in the past, because we understand the industry, are found on Page 1!
